Tea Thyme

TEA THYME

Caffeine for

The morning’s advent,

Awakening to all

That awaits.

Echinacea for

The noontime cycle,

Averting ailments

That hinder.

Ginkgo for

The midday spirit,

Awareness of all

That entails

Ginseng for

The evening mood,

Awash of somberness

That did passed.

Chamomile for

The day’s zenith,

Alleviation of all

That transpired.

Mews…

MEW…

Heart of a lioness
Beating fast in a chamber;
A bullet belting for release.
The purr of a chainsaw
When solace is found

Mane of a lioness
Coiffed as if tamed;
Reeds of gold wheat.
Groomed by the brush,
When wily isn’t preferred.

Paws of a lioness
Velvet-like tactility;
Claws retracted.
Wounds are made
When desirous of prey.

Fangs of a lioness
Borne in a grimace;
The smile of the huntress.
Pearled by use
When air touches maw.

Soul of a lioness
Within the shell of a woman;
Beguiling avatar.
Tread forth with benevolence
When in need of her.

Muse

MUSE

A daughter of Zeus
Sponsoring an idea,
A notion that evolves
Into pure creation.
Art is thusly born

To ponder the idea,
To think aloud or
In solitude;
Shout from ramparts,
“Here it is and here is why.”

Inkling begets Image,
Image begets Thought,
Thought begets Idea,
And the pen is
The deliverer.

The cascade’s genesis,
Through blurred eyes,
Is suddenly made clear
When focus is found;
The embodiment therein.

Goddess, source, idea…
Inspiration, calculation…
Mulling or minding…
All attributes granted…
By simply one who smiles.
